Atheists are often accused of preaching an evolutionary survivalist morality (an inaccurate cheap shot in almost all circumstances) but your last comment encompasses an ends-justifies-the-means morality better than any 'Darwinist' could. If you can accommodate these beliefs within your concept of a 'loving' god (because he had no other options did he?) then the train has left the station.
